Akie Abe

Akie Abe (安倍昭恵 Japanese: Abe Akie?, June 10, 1962 -) is the wife of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe and current First Lady of Japan. She is the first First Lady in over 5 years, as former Prime Minister Jun'ichirō Koizumi was not married. Born Akie Matsuzaki, Abe is regarded as a socialite. She is from a wealthy Japanese family; her father is the former president of Morinaga & Co., one of Japan's largest confectionery companies. She was educated at a Roman Catholic school, Seishin Joshi Gakuin Senmon Gakko, and later worked for Dentsu Inc., the world's largest advertising agency brand, before marrying Shinzō Abe in 1987.[1] In the 1990s, Abe worked as a radio disc jockey in her husband's hometown of Shimonoseki.[2] The couple have no children.
According to the South Korean newspaper, She is a fan of Korean culture and Japan's Korean Wave phenomenon, including South Korean soap opera star, Park Yong-ha.[2]
