Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi (sometimes Quereshi) enjoyed a terrific junior career, finishing No. 11 in the world in 1998. Since then, he's traveled the world, playing Challenger events and representing Pakistan in Davis Cup. When he and Israel's Amir Hadad played Wimbledon, they caused an international stir. Pakistan's leaders were clearly upset that Qureshi, a Muslim, opted to play alongside Jewish Hadad on the world's biggest tennis stage. The unlikely duo advanced to the third round at Wimbledon and to the second round at the US Open.
Aisamul Haq created history when he booked a World Group playoff berth for Pakistan after a thumping straight set triumph over Taiwan’s Lu Yen in reverse singles in the Davis Cup Asia Oceania Group-I.
