The Aircraft Operations Center is the main base for the approximately 15 aircraft of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
The base is in Tampa, Florida on the MacDill Air Force Base. The NOAA Aircraft Operations Center houses multiple light aircraft, helicopters, and three Hurricane Hunters aircraft. This small base plays a large role in every hurricane season by flying constantly into and around hurricanes for research and forecasting.
