User talk:AIDbot

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bot for checking what needs to be updated on Article Improvement Drive.

This bot connects to AID page, retrieves it, checks if every nomination is formated as expected, counts votes, whether header of every nomination states correct number of votes and correct "stays until" date, checks whether the nomination collected enough votes to update "stays until" date and finally checks for nominations that expired and should be removed. It then does what he is capable of doing (things which are obvious) and prints out what needs to be done by hand.

The bot usually takes aprox. 15 seconds to execute. If bot hangs for more than 30 seconds, something's wrong (probably Wikipedia having problems again) -> try running the bot in 5 minutes. If in 5 minutes it stil hangs, try in a hour :-)

This bot is still in developement phase and therefore isn't very user friendly. Messages it provides are pretty short and are not explanatory. But, I myself am user friendly, and I'll be glad to help you using this bot. If you have problems understanding what the bot wanted to say, contact me on my talk page, and I will not only help you, but I will change the message the bot displays into one more explanatory, so that other people don't have hard time understanding what the bot wanted to say.
