Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah

Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah (1885 - January 29, 1950) (Arabic: أحمد الجابر الصباح) was sheikh of Kuwait from March 29, 1921 to January 29, 1950, and 10th ruler of the Al-Sabah dynasty of Kuwait. He was born in 1885 in Kuwait as the eldest son of Jabir II Al-Sabah, who was shaykh of Kuwait between 1915 and 1917. Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah was elected to power after the death of his uncle Salim Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah in 1921. During his reign, the Kuwaiti borders were set by the British, though he wasn't entirely in support of this new border treaty because it caused approximately one third of Kuwait's territory to be lost to neighboring Iraq and Saudi Arabia.
His son Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah was the Emir of Kuwait from 1977 to 2006. His son Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah is the current emir (from 2006).
