Ahlen [ˈaːlən] is a town of around 55.000 inhabitants in the district of Warendorf, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is situated approx. 10 km north-east of Hamm.
Ahlen had a significant coal mining industry.
It is also the birthplace of Valencia CF footballer, Curro Torres.
