Ah Niu

Ah Niu is the nickname of Tan Kheng Seong. He was born on August 31, 1976 in Penang, Malaysia. In the late 1990s he was a popular singer in Malaysia and Singapore. He is of the Hokkien dialect group.
Secondary School was Sekolah Menengah Jenis Kebangsaan Chung Ling, Butterworth (Chung Ling High School, Butterworth) and went to Inti College, Kuala Lumpur [Major in Film & Theatre (Drama Course), Mass Comm].
In 1997, he was very popular in Malaysia and Singapore only. His song was then sung by Richie Ren (Taiwanese singer) and it showed popularity. In December 1998, Rock Records arranged for Ah Niu to go to Taiwan to expand his singing career. Ah Niu won popularity very quickly with his nice, simple and unique songs. This was when singers like Rene Liu Ruo Ying and Karen Mok asked Ah Niu to compose songs for them. He is now not only popular in Taiwan, but also in China and Hong Kong. He has been a special guest for many concerts around Hong Kong, China and Taiwan. He was also in the movie Para Para Sakura by Aaron Kwok in year 2001.
