Agulo is located on the north coast of the island of La Gomera in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife of the Canary Islands. It is located WNW of the capital San Sebastián de la Gomera. The population is ranked last in the island.

The population is 1,221 (ISTAC, 2003), its density is 47.6/km² and the area is 25.65 km²/2,565 ha. The elevation is 260 m.

Farmlands are in the valley areas and within the Atlantic, urban areas covers much of the area and the mountain and the hills are to the southeast. Its climate is mainly vegetation.
Much of the area are made up of farmlands, most of the farmlands are urbanized while most of the population shifted from rural to urban and tourism. The population are mainly urban today and its industry are agriculture, some businesses and tourism. The main crop production are bananas (Platanos) as well as fruits. It offers a view of the Atlantic Ocean.
Agulo is known as the "green balcony" In the mountainous areas, it features Agulo Casco, famous for its natural amphitheatre. In the area if Sobreagulo along with the settlements of Las Rosas, Las Palmitas, Meriga (the Meriga Forest with is part of UNESCO's World Heritage Site) and Cruz de Tierno located in the Garajonay National Park. The highest point named Abrante features a spectacular view of Agulo with the island of Teneriffe to the eastern part. The sites of interests includes Torta de Cuajada
