The commune extends into the valley of Beauronne, it is located 12 km north of Périgueux.

The settlements "Borie-Vieille" and "Les Cadagnes". In the 11th century, the village was to be built on an hill containing valleys with difficult access and built four fourtresses and protected the area from the Norman invasions.
