Agboville

Agboville is a small town in Côte d'Ivoire, close to Abidjan. The local ethnic group is called Abbey. Abbey is one of over 60 ethnic groups represented in Cote D'Ivoire. The Abbey people have many traditions related to family and friends. One important holiday for the Abbeys is "La fete des ignames" or the "Yam Festival". Historically, La Fete des ignames is a celebration of a good harvest of yams because yams of been the greatest resource for the Abbey region of Agboville.
