After the Hole is a 1993 horror novel by Guy Burt, which was the basis for the 2001 film The Hole.

At a British private school, five students are lured into an abandoned cellar by a malevolent prankster named Martyn. Despite his promises to free them in three days, the students eventually realize they are trapped indefinitely.
