Afro-punk

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Afro-punk is a 66-minute documentary, exploring race identity within the punk scene across America and abroad.

It is also a term referring to African American and other African groups and their experience of punk culture.

There are many such people: the bands Fishbone, Whole Wheat Bread, Bad Brains, Suicidal Tendencies, El Pus, Dead Kennedys, Ten Grand, and 24-7 Spyz have all included or consist of African members. Many people of African descent have also been noted at many concerts, James Spooner has noted that they even form a majority of the attendance.
