Over the years, Aerosmith have lent their name, their image, their music, and oftentimes even themselves to significant elements of pop culture. As they have come to represent the authentic American rock n' roll band, they are often used whenever a rock band or a rock song is desired for any type of media. Aerosmith is also featured in a variety of media, from video games to movies to roller-coasters. This has greatly contributed to Aerosmith's fame, longevity, and recognition by even the youngest of audiences. The following is a list of the many contributions Aerosmith has given to pop culture.

[edit] Amusement Park Attractions
- Aerosmith songs are featured on the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster in Disney-MGM Studios located in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
- They are also featured on the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster in Walt Disney Studios Park located in Marne-la-Vallée, France.

- The band starred in the movie Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band in 1978.
- The band guest-starred in and was featured prominently in the 1993 film Wayne's World 2. The band's live performances in the movie--"Dude (Looks Like a Lady)" and "Shut Up and Dance"--are featured on the film's soundtrack album.
- The song "Dude (Looks Like a Lady)" was featured in the 1993 film Mrs. Doubtfire
- The band contributed two new songs ("What Kind of Love Are You On" and the #1 "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing") and two old classics ("Sweet Emotion" and "Come Together") to the soundtrack to the 1998 blockbuster smash Armageddon, which Tyler's daughter Liv starred in.
- The band contributed the song "Angel's Eye" to the 2000 film Charlie's Angels.
- "Dream On" was the song that was played during the commercial for the hockey movie, Miracle. It was also played during the closing credits.
- A rock band of elves resembling Aerosmith is featured in the movie The Polar Express performing a song called "Rockin' on Top of the World." Steven Tyler sang the lyrics in the song, yet the rest of the band was either not featured in the song or not given credit, meaning it is likely one of Tyler's few solo works.
- Steven Tyler also cameoed in the film Be Cool which stars John Travolta and Uma Thurman. In the film, Steven Tyler does a duo of "Cryin'" with upcoming singer Linda Moon (played by Christina Milian)
- "Sweet Emotion" was featured in the film Dazed and Confused.

- The band appeared in a "Wayne's World" sketch on Saturday Night Live with Mike Myers and Dana Carvey circa 1990, a precursor to their appearance in the sequel to the film of the same name.
- Aerosmith guest starred in the animated series The Simpsons in the third season episode "Flaming Moe's".
- Aerosmith appeared on MTV Unplugged on November 8, 1990 at the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City which aired on MTV on September 20, 1990
- The band's song "Deuces are Wild" was featured on The Beavis and Butt-head Experience, the soundtrack for the wildly popular 1990s cartoon television series on MTV.
- Aerosmith performed at Woodstock '94, an event which was broadcast on Pay-Per-View.
- In the mid 1990s, lead singer Steven Tyler was interviewed for a special on 20/20, discussing how he overcame drug addiction in his life and how Aerosmith has risen back to success since then.
- Aerosmith provided the theme music for Spider-Man: The Animated Series. When Peter Parker first dons on the symbiote costume, his first costume change is to be "the lead singer of Aerosmith".
- "Dream On" was the background track for Sportscenter's video retrospective of sports in the 20th century played several times at the end of 1999.
- In 2001, Aerosmith played the Super Bowl XXXV halftime show with 'N Sync, Britney Spears, Mary J. Blige and Nelly.
- In 2002, Aerosmith was featured in a special 2-hour long episode of the popular VH1 rock documentary series Behind the Music, which was unique in that it also chronicled the current activities and touring of the band, in addition to their past. Today, they are the only, or one of the only, artists to have a 2 hour episode, as most Behind the Musics are only 1 hour in length.
- In 2006, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry performed three Aerosmith songs with the Boston Pops Orchestra for the city's annual July 4 celebration and fireworks spectacular which was broadcast live nationally on CBS.

- Steven Tyler and Joe Perry were featured in a television advertisement for The Gap in the late 1990s.
- Car manufacturer Buick used the band's song "Dream On" in advertisements in 2004.
- Lead singer Steven Tyler and the band's song "The Grind" were featured in an advertisement for Sony digital cameras.
- Aerosmith music was featured heavily in a 2001 ad campaign for Dodge automobiles, featuring several of the band's songs, including "Just Push Play".

- The songs "Nine Lives" and "Home Tonight" are featured in Dead or Alive 3.
- The single "Dream On" is the opening theme for Dead or Alive Ultimate.
- The songs "Amazing" and "Eat The Rich" are featured in Dead or Alive 4.
- The band has starred or appeared in numerous video games, such as Revolution X and Quest for Fame.
- Aerosmith was also featured in a game for Sega Genesis titled Revolution X where music CDs were fired at vilians called the New Order Nation, a government group bent on stopping music, creativity, and basic freedoms. It was released in its first form as an arcade game.
- Aerosmith's song "Last Child" is featured in the PS2 game, Guitar Hero 2.

- In 1994, Aerosmith released the single "Head First" for download on the internet. It is considered the first full-length commercial entertainment product online.
- The band also appears as villains in the popular internet game, Emogame

- The hit "Dream On" provides the background and chorus for Eminem's 2003 hit song "Sing for the Moment".
- Aerosmith's song "Livin' on the Edge" was parodied by "Weird Al" Yankovic as "Livin' in the Fridge".

- Aerosmith guest starred in the comic book Shadowman #19 by Valiant Comics. In the book, Master Darque creates a voodoo doll of Steven Tyler and trades Jack Boniface (Shadowman) Tyler's soul for an as yet unnamed favour.Steven J Massarsky, one of the original co-owners of Voyager Communications, the parent company of Valiant Comics had strong connections to the music industry (for a time he managed the Allman Brothers Band among others) and used these connections to convince popular musicians to appear in Valiant Comics.
