Harald Bohr - Played for Akademisk Boldklub and the Danish national football team, won silver at the 1908 Summer Olympics.
Albert Camus - Goalkeeper for University of Algiers, had to end his career after catching tuberculosis. Would likely have made the Algeria national football team.
Goran Ivanisevic - Played for Hajduk Split's youth academy, but decided to play tennis instead.
Pope John Paul II - Goalkeeper in his early days, quit football in order to focus on his religion.
