Adyashanti

Adyashanti is an American born spiritual teacher, or guru, who regularly gives Satsang in the United States and is the author of several books.

Born as Steve Gray, Adyashanti studied Zen for 15 years when, at age 25, he bagan experiencing a series of transformative spiritual awakenings. He had studied under Arvis Joen Justi, who was a student of Taizan Maezumi Roshi of the Zen Center of Los Angeles, and also under Jakusho Kwong Roshi of the San Francisco Zen Center. In 1996 he was invited to teach by Arvis Justi. His teaching style is somewhat untraditional from his Zen background, but has been compared to the early Chan masters of China as well as to teachers of Advaita Vedanta in India.[1]
