Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages. The notices and comments are needed to establish community consensus about the status of an article, and removing them is considered vandalism. If you oppose the deletion of an article, you may comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. --Nigel (Talk) 18:09, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] fixing the article

I am trying to fix the article, but my previous version keeps popping up. I have taken all external links and internal links out.

What else can I do to fix the article? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Adorno&yoss (talkcontribs) 19:01, 23 Aug 2006 (UTC)

Fix the article anyway you like but you must not remove the deletion notice again or you will be blocked --Nigel (Talk) 19:03, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

In the message itself says if you have fix the article you can delete the message, that's the only reason I deleted, not to vandalize it in any way. Please help me edit the article so it will not be self promoting.

Ok lets try this again - the article was seen by another wiki editor as self promoting. I did not make that judgement but I have been trying to ensure that the notice remains there for a sensible period of time. Your continual deletion of it, despite warnings, looks a little strange. On the notice itself it directs you to the article talk page to explain why you object to the deletion of the article (it is afterall self promotion given your choosen name). If you want to explain why it should stand on the talk page and improve the article I suggest you then approach the user who placed the deletion notice for their view (User:VoiceOfReason). I do hope that this is now clear to you and so long as you leave the notice I will stay away but I will continue to watch the page with interest. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Adorno&yoss (talkcontribs) 19:18, 23 Aug 2006 (UTC)

I hope this helps - regards --Nigel (Talk) 19:27, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

  • Just a comment... you didn't technically do anything wrong by removing the deletion notice, since it was merely a proposed deletion rather than a formal deletion nomination. But if you remove the prod, I will probably go ahead with the formal process. The reason is that you're creating an article on your own company (judging by your username) and such self-promotion is generally frowned-upon. Review the terms of WP:CORP, which governs notability requirements for articles about companies. If you believe that your company is notable by these guidelines, make edits to the article linking to verifiable sources showing that it does. Wouldn't hurt to add an explanation to the article's talk page, too. Good luck. Oh, also please sign your comments on talk pages like this one with four tildes (~~~~)... that'll avoid all those unsightly {{unsigned}} templates you see here :) VoiceOfReason 19:47, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

Understood, I will make the necessary changesAdorno&yoss 20:06, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

  • Good. Since you are clearly acting in good faith and not merely trying to promote your own company without regard to the rules, I'm going to remove the proposed deletion notice for now to give you time to make your case that the company meets WP:CORP (and don't forget verifiability!) If after a reasonable amount of time I don't think that you've done it, I'll restore the notice... if I do, please don't take it personally. Just trying to objectively apply the guidelines as well as I can. VoiceOfReason 20:24, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fresh start

So with a bit of time to reflect.

It was your actions in continually removing the notice that was the issue to me (& when an anonomous IP address did the same I became very suspicious). It really is quite classic vandalism in the face of escalating warnings. Was I right? Probably with hindsight no - a "welcome" notice which I will now place might have helped as it would have directed you toward some help (although this is avialble on the toolbar on the left).

As to the validity of the page I confess I personally do not see Wikipedia as being a directlory for any business type however there are a number of pages for law firms & I guess I see no reason why yours should not be one of them. In terms of style and content you might well be advised to look at some of the others to see how they do it rather than just getting stuck.

So do join wiki properly and contribute on a variety of subjects - I imagine there would be a number you could usefully contribute - become part of it. You really are welcome to get back to me if you feel I can help. --Nigel (Talk) 09:50, 24 August 2006 (UTC) As a ps I fully agree with User:VoiceOfReason's comments.
