Adolf Holtzmann

Adolf Holtzmann (1810-1870) was a German philologist.

Born at Karlsruhe, he gave himself to the study of theology and then of philology at various universities, and in 1852 became professor of the German Language and Literature at Heidelberg.

He is the author of various learned treatises on philology and kindred subjects. He wrote Amsterdam Classics in Linguistics, 1800-1925.
