Adnan (Arabic: عدنان ) is the traditional ancestor of the Adnani (Arabized Arabs) of northern Arabia, as opposed to the Qahtani of Southern Arabia who descend from Qahtan. Adnan is said to be a descendant of Ishmael through his son Kedar. His descendants are said to have included Muhammad.

Adnan is still a common male name for Arabs and Muslims. The word Adnan is related to the word for paradise or Garden of Eden or Adam.
