Admiral of the Fleet (Royal Australian Navy)

His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh was created Admiral of the Fleet in the Royal Australian Navy in 1954, following the Coronation of Her Majesty The Queen. He is not an Admiral merely in his capacity as Admiral of the Fleet in the Royal Navy - Australia, like New Zealand and the United Kingdom, maintains a separate rank.
