Administrative divisions of Oman

Oman is divided into five regions (mintaqah) and four governorates (muhafazah).

• Ad Dakhiliyah(Region)
• Al Batinah(Region)
• Al Wusta(Region)
• Ash Sharqiyah(Region)
• Ad Dhahirah (Region)
• Muscat (governorate)
• Musandam (governorate)
• Dhofar (governorate)
• Al Buraymi (governorate) (created October 2006)

The regions are further subdivided into provinces (wilayat).Each region has one or more regional center.The total regional centers amount to 12.
