From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Admiel Kosman, Israeli poet, was born in Haifa in 1957. He studied in religious schools and yeshivot, but after his service in the Israeli Defense Forces he entered the Bezalel Art Academy in Jerusalem. Later he became a lecturer in the Department of Talmudic Studies at Bar-Ilan University in Tel Aviv. Kosman began writing in the 1980's and has published three books of poetry. His poems often deal with the tension between his religious faith and his artistic sensibilities. Now he is teaching Talmud and Halacha in the School of Jewish Studies at the Potsdam University, Germany.
