The ADFX-01 Morgan is a fictional fighter aircraft in the game Ace Combat Zero. Its name is derived from the ADF-01 with the 'X' denoting it is a prototype, the the number appearing to denote which prototype it is; during the game, the player can control the ADFX-01, while the ADFX-02 also appears. Due to the high influence of Arthurian legend found within Ace Combat Zero, it is highly likely that this plane's name stems from the character Morgan le Fay.
The ADFX-01 appears, thus far, only in Ace Combat Zero as both a flyable plane and one flown by the game's last enemy ace. It is highly maneuverable and is fairly resistant to damage.

[edit] Statistics
The fighter carries 800 rounds of ammunition for its vulcan cannon, and 84 AIM-9M Sidewinder missiles. The aircraft also comes equipped with seven Tactical Laser System (TLS) shots as its secondary weapon. 8 Multi-Purpose Burst Missiles (MPBM) and Electronic Counter Measure Pod (ECMP) featuring eight charges can also be purchased.
[edit] Aircraft Configuration
The ADFX-01 is an experimental aircraft using state of the art technology including Belkan chemical laser systems. The results of the experiment gave birth to the ADF-01 Falken.
Unlike its successor, the Morgan does not internalize its weapons, instead relying on struts to mounts its TLS above and behind the cockpit and pylons beneath its wings for missiles and MPBMs. Its engines also do not exhibit thrust vectoring.
One interesting aspect of the Morgan is that it seems to create more lift with its body structure, allowing it to take off at nearly half of the Falken's speed.
The ADFX-01 has in-flight refueling capabilities.
[edit] ADFX-02 Variant
In the last campaign mission of Ace Combat Zero, the player comes up against an ace pilot, former wingman Pixy, flying a then-unknown aircraft. This aircraft later is designated the ADFX-02 and, unlike the ADFX-01, is heavily armored, and is able to carry all three (TLS, MPBM, and ECMP) SP weapons at once. However, it uses only one at a time. Its ECMP can also deflect literally anything not in front of the aircraft, however a laser shot from the rear will shoot it down. In addition, the ADFX-02 is also equipped with a computer system that allowed Pixy to control the launch of the Belkan V2 nuclear missile during the mission.
[edit] Unlocking the ADFX-01
To unlock the ADFX-01 in Ace Combat Zero, the player must complete Campaign mode with all three ace styles (Mercenary, Soldier, and Knight) at any difficulty setting.
Or, if you have Ace Combat 4 & 5 saves on your memory card, unlocking the Morgan can be done by simply beating the game at least 3 times.
[edit] Paint schemes
The ADFX-01 has 5 paint schemes, Normal, Mercenary, Soldier, Knight, and SP. Mercenary, Soldier, and Knight can be unlocked by completing the game as each of the ace styles. SP can be unlocked by completing the game in "Expert" difficulty.
