  • Is it not typical to locate the article at the singular of the word?
    • I believe for families in zoology and virology it is customary for the plural form to be used. If you look at scientific classification, all the families and subfamilies are in plural, although none of the phyla, classes, orders, etc. are. --Joelmills 03:02, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
