[edit] Request for edit summary

Hi. I am a bot, and I am writing to you with a request. I would like to ask you, if possible, to use edit summaries a bit more often when you contribute. The reason an edit summary is important is because it allows your fellow contributors to understand what you changed; you can think of it as the "Subject:" line in an email. For your information, your current edit summary usage is 2% for major edits and 11% for minor edits. (Based on the last 119 major and 19 minor edits in the article namespace.)

This is just a suggestion, and I hope that I did not appear impolite. You do not need to reply to this message, but if you would like to give me feedback, you can do so at the feedback page. Thank you, and happy edits, Mathbot 10:30, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Incorrect information

Re: March 4 Orion Nebular year

  • Please stop deliberately introducing incorrect information into articles. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. Rklawton 02:34, 22 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Years

Regarding years links in the dates articles: the first instance of a year gets linked. The subsequent years do not get linked (within a heading). Rklawton 15:38, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

Please STOP linking duplicate years. Your actions are not consistent with the format established for this type of article and they are NOT consistent with the other date articles. You have already been advised regarding this, and I will start posting warning templates are your talk page if you persist to make these unexplained edits. Rklawton 19:20, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

This user has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia, per ruling of administrators, Jimbo Wales and/or the Arbitration Committee. See block log.|}

Your account has been unblocked. Please make a concerted effort towards using edit summaries, and be careful not to insert false information into articles. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me via email or my talk page. Best regards, Hall Monitor 19:42, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

Re: March 4 Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages by deliberately introducing incorrect information, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Rklawton 04:59, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

Re: Rklawton Please stop interfering. If you had any degree of intelligence then you would realise that I have NOT, I repeat NOT, vandalised any article on Wikipedia and most certainly not deliberately introduced incorrect information. I thought I had clarified this several times previously. The information given on one page about the Orion Nebular was inconsistent with the date given on a related article on a different page. Having checked the dates online with other websites and sources I correctly made an ammendment. You have seen fit to remove my edits and I presume have also something to do with the perfectly legitimate additions I made to the events of the March 4 page which have surprisingly, and unbeknown to me have been removed. I suggest you get off your high horse, or indeed get a life, and let those of us who have correctly made additions to the website get on with doing so. Now, run along and leave me be. I thank you! Acumen76

Bless you! Rklawton 03:26, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Date article trivia, etc.

I only looked at a few items before making that rather sweeping "trivia" statement. I think some discussion on the project page will be interesting and useful for all the various date article contributors. Your thoughts on the matter are just as valid as everyone's, and I am looking forward to working with everyone to develop some useful guidelines. Once that happens, I hope you'll take a second look at your various contributions and re-evaluate them in light of the yet to be determined consensus. Rklawton 00:42, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Change of date to 4 March for I Capuleti e i Montecchi

I see you changed the date of the first performance. I'd be curious to know why. The Oxford Dictionary of Opera and the Rough Guide to Opera both give 11 March 1830 with Grisi etc. - Kleinzach 20:54, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

Apologies, merely corrected in line with information given already on Wikipedia. Acumen76 22:12, 17 April 2006
Where exactly was it given? - Kleinzach 21:20, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

On the March 4 event page. Acumen76 15:16, 18 April 2006

Pardon me, but you added that information yourself to the date March 4th article.[1] The question still stands, what was your source? Rklawton 15:25, 18 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] April 2006

Re: March 4 please do not remove appropriate content (in this case Pope Lucius I's feast day) from an article. It is considered the same as vandalism. Rklawton 18:22, 19 April 2006 (UTC)

I hadn't, I added a detail that was already present and thus deleted. (Acumen76 12:31, 20 April 2006 (UTC))

This link shows you deleting valid information [2] Rklawton 13:01, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

Yes, as I had added a detail that was already present!! And you have seen fit to revert it so that both details about Lucius I are now present... (Acumen76 13:03, 20 April 2006 (UTC))

Same person, two different events. Rklawton 13:05, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

Oh, rubbish! (Acumen76 13:07, 20 April 2006 (UTC))
