RfA?!?!?!?

Dude, I got nominated for adminship! Crazy, huh? I don't stand much of a chance, but it's cool nonetheless! - Corbin 1 ɱ p s ɔ Rock on, dude! 05:59, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

EWS23's RfA

Thanks for your message, your support, and your congrats. It's not a done deal yet, but obviously I'm happy so far. You certainly are the first one to send your congrats (more than 5 days early!), but all I can do is keep working hard and cross my fingers. Hope all is well, and talk to you again soon. :o) EWS23 | (Leave me a message!) 06:13, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

In/Out

Ahh, someone who may know. I've been trying to put the in/out status on the top right of my userpage, but I don't have a clue what I'm doing aside from copying others. Can you give me an outline on format? I've created all kinds of subpages trying to get it to work. Heck, I'll let you do it yourself if you dont' mind. I'm just lost in java. VandalProof 1.2 Now Available

After a lenghty, but much-needed Wikibreak, I'm happy to announce that version 1.2 of VandalProof is now available for download! Beyond fixing some of the most obnoxious bugs, like the persistent crash on start-up that many have experienced, version 1.2 also offers a wide variety of new features, including a stub-sorter, a global user whitelist and blacklist, navigational controls, and greater customization. You can find a full list of the new features here. While I believe this release to be a significant improvement over the last, it's nonetheless nowhere near the end of the line for VandalProof. Thanks to Rob Church, I now have an account on test.wikipedia.org with SysOp rights and have already been hard at work incorporating administrative tools into VandalProof, which I plan to make available in the near future. An example of one such SysOp tool that I'm working on incorporating is my simple history merge tool, which simplifies the process of performing history merges from one article into another. Anyway, if you haven't already, I'd encourage you to download and install version 1.2 and take it out for a test-drive. As always, your suggestions for improvement are always appreciated, and I hope that you will find this new version useful. Happy editing! --AmiDaniel (talk) 02:03, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

EWS23's RfA

Hi Actown! Thank you very much for your support at my request for adminship and for helping me "get the mop." :o) I'll do my best to use it wisely. If you ever see anything that I could be doing better, please leave me a message. Hopefully I'll see you around IRC sometime, and we can discuss this crazy Northwest weather. :o) EWS23 | (Leave me a message!) 01:03, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

CorbinSimpson's Request for Adminship

Thanks for voting in my request for administrator rights, even though it failed (13/30/4). Sadly, work has forced me to respond to you all using a substituted message rather than a personalized response. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that administrators, to me, should be chosen and approved by the community, and I will continue working to become a better editor and Wikipedian. No matter what the alignment of your vote was, I will take your comments seriously and use them to improve myself. If you wish to discuss your comments personally with me, I would be more than glad to talk about things since the RfA is now over; just leave your concern on my talk page and we will sort things out. Thanks again for voting, and happy editing! - Corbin Be excellent

Icons for RfA votes

Hi. I noticed that you've started using icons with your votes on RfA. Briefly, I'd like to ask that you not do that. It's been discussed before, and the consensus is that icons at RfA aren't helpful and can cause harm and inconvenience; there's a quick summary at Wikipedia_talk:Requests_for_adminship#Voting_icons. It's one of those things that may seem like a neat idea at first, but sort of unravels in practice. Cheers! TenOfAllTrades(talk) 17:18, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

Abuse

Note: There seems to be some confusion here. Iloveminun apparently believes you are an administrator. According to the [rights log], Actown is just a regular user. Sorry Actown! smurrayinchester(User), (Talk) 19:40, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

Someone with the user name HighwayCello wrote bad things about me, and it was also swearing. It is on User_talk:HighwayCello/Archive#Archive the fifth. Please leave a message on my talk page to show you reas this, thank you. And it appears that im not the only user that disagrees that User:HighwayCello should be an administrator. I Love Minun 15:26, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

He just happened to be editing the same articles as me.

He recently vandalized Image:Poke Clean Up.gif —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Iloveminun (talkcontribs) .

I caught his sockpuppet, he was trying to overthrow a popular website from all Pokémon articles, with the help of his sockpuppet. He now has gone into pestering me, harassing me and dropping in discussions "Never listen to him". Thanks, Highway Rainbow Sneakers 15:36, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
And I'm not to partial to all the admin suck referral. If I leave a link to my failed RfA, it's for me to check on, not for other users to slag me with. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 15:37, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
DON'T stick up to User:HighwayCello. You will notice that he was rejected in the RFA (Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/HighwayCello) and accoring to another talk page, everyone hates him. He always interfieres with edits.I Love Minun 18:44, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Hey Actown, (remember me, Corbin's friend?) I'm sorry you got caught up in all of this, User:Iloveminun is... imaginative with events. More or less, he's tried to make me miserable, but I think the end is near. Hope you don't hate me after this, and good luck with any admin attempts (you can pull off the illusion, something I couldn't do obviously *glares at Minun*). Regards, Highway Rainbow Sneakers 20:25, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

Caught his sockpuppet and prevented him from getting away with replacing Serebii.net with his own site, which could have done major damage. ILM now seems to be damaging templates and articles rather than helping, so I will do as I see best to prevent this, regardless of the effects. Regards, Highway Rainbow Sneakers 22:06, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
He's been continually harrassing me, and he's blocked for continuous IfD tag removal for an hour. He's also blanked my pages today with his IP, no block there. Can you just flush him, not to be rude? ; ) Highway Rainbow Sneakers 22:59, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

Its a bit of a cowincadence that he was on this page. If he wasn't following me, he wouldn't be on this page. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Iloveminun (talkcontribs).

No, do it to HighwayCello, im working on a page full FULL FULL of evidence that HighwayCello should be BANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD I Love Minun (talk) 19:10, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

A very sad thank you

Thank you for your vote in my recent RFA. At 43/43/14, I decided it was best to withdraw. I will wait until another time for an RFA. Thanks again, ILovePlankton 03:19, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

A short Esperanzial update

As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.

As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.

Thanks and kind, Esperanzial regards, —Celestianpower háblame 16:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

August Esperanza Newsletter

Program Feature: To-Do List
The Esperanza To-Do List is a place where you may list any request, big or small, for assistance. If you need help with archiving your usertalk, for example, all you need to do is list it here and somebody will help you out. Likewise, if you need help with some area of editing on Wikipedia, list it here! Again, any matter, trivial or not, can be placed on this page. However, all matters listed on this page must not be of an argumentative nature. You do not need to be a member of Esperanza (or this program) to place or fulfill requests on this page. If you don't have any requests, consider coming by and fulfilling a few! This program has not been very active, but has lots of potential!
What's New?
In order to help proposed programs become specific enough to make into full-fledged programs, the In development section of the proposals page has been created. Proposals that are promising, but need to be organized in more detail are listed here. Please take a look at what is there, and help the proposals turn into programs.
To improve both the layout and text of the front page, in an attempt to clarify the image of Esperanza, the front page is going to have some redesigning take place. Please take your creative minds to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Front page redesign to brainstorm good ideas.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
  1. In order to make sure all users who join Esperanza are welcomed, a list of volunteers who are willing to welcome new Esperanzians is at Wikipedia:Esperanza/Members#Esperanza_welcomers. Please add yourself if you are interested; we want to make sure all new Esperanza members are welcomed!
  2. The In development section of the proposals page has been created.
  3. Proposals page: Some proposals have been moved to the aforementioned "In development" section, some have been left as a proposal, and others have been archived. For those proposals that were a good idea but didn't necessarily constitute a program, General Esperanzial Actions has been created.
  4. Two small pieces of charter reform will be decided on in a straw poll at Wikipedia talk:Esperanza/Governance. One involves filling the position of any councillors who may leave, the other involves reforming the charter.
  5. Until cooperation with the Kindness Campaign is better defined, it remains as a proposed program.
  6. There is a page for discussing the front page redesign.
