ACT Corrective Services

ACT Corrective Services is a component of the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Department of Justice and Community Safety (JACS) in Canberra, Australia. It is responsible for a wide range of activities and services in the area aimed at protecting the community and reducing offending behaviour.

ACT Corrective Services is comprised of six operational units:

• The Belconnen Remand Centre
• The Symonston Temporary Remand Centre
• The Periodic Detention Centre
• Court Transport Unit
• Community Based Corrections includes the Probation and Parole Unit and the Rehabilitation Programs Unit (RPU). The RPU includes the Home Detention Unit and Community Service Orders Unit

It also has a Business, Policy & Co-ordination Unit and the ACT Prison Project Unit working to establish the ACT's first prison.
