Across Five Aprils

Across Five Aprils is a novel written in 1964 by Irene Hunt.

The novel is about an Illinois family's point of view of the American Civil War. Two brothers from the family fight for the north, while one brother fights for the south. After their father has a heart attack, Jethro has to be the man of the house.

The book received a Newbery Honor, a prestigious literary award.

There is also a hardcore/metal music group named Across Five Aprils.
