[edit] Presidents of the British Virgin Islands
Hi Acntx. I was looking at List of Presidents of the British Virgin Islands, and I am completely unable to follow. I am no expert at history, but as someone who if from the British Virgin Islands and sat through all the history lessons, I am 99.9% sure that we have never had any presidents, and certainly none of the names on the list appear to have anything to do with the BVI. You are down as the man who started the article - can you clue me in to your source(s)? Legis 14:18, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] 1996 Sierra Leone election
Hi Acntx, I have been adding to Sierra Leone several biographies of politicians recently and I was using your election results as a platform for doing it, particularly the 1996 results. I am, however, now unable to find this project of yours. Could you link me to it? Thanks and I look forward to keep helping to improve Sub-Saharan Africa on wikipedia with you.--Thomas.macmillan 04:10, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Nema Kunku
Hi. In your article about Nema Kunku are any mistakes (false division, map). In the German Wikipedia is a correct article [1]. --[2] 16:53, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Indian state stubs
I see you updating Indian state stub templates and categorizing them. You are breaking policy when you do that. When I first created these stub templates, I was told to propose them at the stub sorting project and get them approved. The conditions for approval where that I do not to create state categories unless there are 65 or more articles in them. That was the reason some state stubs were upmerged (as they called it) to Category:India geography stubs. I will not revert your recent Nagaland change, but I want you to understand what you are doing. - Ganeshk (talk) 15:02, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Gnaa, Nigeria
Hi. If you get a chance, could you take a look at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gnaa, Nigeria (2nd nomination). I think someone's pulling our leg. Thanks, --A. B. 22:24, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Abdou_Diouf.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Abdou_Diouf.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

[edit] Regions of Mali
Hi, this image you uploaded has a typo in it: Tomboucou instead of Tombouctou (see Tombouctou Region). An anonymous user just showed me the mistake, and I thought that maybe you could fix it. Thanks. Mushroom (Talk) 00:35, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Texas school districts
Just out of curiosity, what grounds are there for having separate articles for all these Texas school districts? They don't seem to be notable for any particular reason... --Bookgrrl 00:25, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Ahmed Makarfi.png
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Ahmed Makarfi.png. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.. :) Dlohcierekim 22:06, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Just wanted to say thank you

[edit] Texas school districts, part III
Thanks for all your work in making all the Texas school district articles. I'm thinking of doing something similar for Wisconsin school districts, so I'm wondering if you had any automated way of doing that ... or was it just a lot of googling and elbow grease? Dmp348 23:36, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Ahidjo.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Ahidjo.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 18:17, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Convergence
Hi there. I hope you are keeping well. Someone wants to turn Socialist Convergence (Mexico) into a redirect page unless we can make it less stubby. Can you help? I saw you've contributed there before...! --Duncan 17:06, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Maraba Coffee
Hello! As you're a Wikipedian interested in African topics, I'm writing to notify you that the Maraba Coffee article is now a 'Featured Article Candidate'. [edit] Please stop creating articles for Texas school districts
These are being put up for AFD. You are just wasting your time and ours if they are deleted.
--Richard 07:51, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- Never mind. I have discovered that there are probably a few thousand similar articles on school districts in the United States. I disagree that these should exist but your creation of articles on Texas school districts is part of a larger picture so you may as well continue on for now.

[edit] Districts of Sierra Leone
Hello again, my fellow Africa contributor. I am in the process of creating articles, all be they stubs, for the Districts of Sierra Leone and I noticed you created the maps for other districts. Would you please make the same type of maps for the new districts? It would be very helpful. Thanks--Thomas.macmillan 19:49, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
- Kenema District, Kailahun District, Western Area Rural District, Western Area Urban District (the latter 2 do not yet have articles, but will quite soon). Thanks--Thomas.macmillan 14:02, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Maps
I know you are away, but I was wondering if you could make a couple of maps for the Eritrean Wikiproject. Really all that would be asked is for a few towns. If you are unable to help with this perhaps you could link me to some helpful places to learn how to do this efficiently. I appreciate all the help you could leverage! --Merhawie 23:50, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Ahmed Makarfi.png. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Yamla 21:12, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
