Acme Sewage Company

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Acme Sewage Company were a punk rock group formed in early 1976. The original members of ASM were Ozzy - Gtr/Vocals, Simon - Drums and Pete Barber - Bass.

The name originated because they had a gig booked and no name for the band. Simon and Ozzy were on a train from London to Welwyn Garden, trying to come up with a name when Ozzy saw the yard of a haulage company out of the window, and noticed all the lorries had 'Acme Trucking Company' emblazoned upon them. He suggested the name 'Acme Sewerage Company', Simon made up some posters (misspelling sewerage) and the band was named. Most people referred to the band as ASC or Acme. The band split in the early 80's
