Acklam

Acklam was a village in the North Riding of Yorkshire in England. It was incorporated into the County Borough of Middlesbrough during the early 1900s and is now part of the town of Middlesbrough in the borough of Middlesbrough and the ceremonial county of North Yorkshire. It is known as Aclun in Domesday Book. The name is Anglo-Saxon Old English 'at the oak clearings'.
Acklam is a small area in Middlesbrough. The postcode is generally TS5. Acklam Road also runs straight through Acklam.
Just off Acklam Road is Hall Drive. Middlesbrough College's Acklam Campus is located on this road, as are:
- Kings Manor
- Hallgarth School
- St David's School (Middlesbrough)
Also branching off from Acklam Road is Lodore Grove, at the end of which is a school called Acklam Grange Secondary School. Just up Trimdon Avenue there is also Acklam Whin primary school and St Clare's primary school.
