Talk:Ace Combat X Super Aircraft

[edit] Article name change
I do not believe that this article should be name "Ace Combat X Super Aircraft" as these aircraft are not necessarily "super" in the game. Rather, they are the customizable aircraft from that game. "Super" aircraft are things like the Wyvern, Falken, Morgan, and Fenrir. The planes in this article are not necessarily up to the level of the other ones, though they can be modified to be. My point is, I do not think that we should refer to them as "super" aircraft so casually. I propose that we rename the article to "Ace Combat X Custom Aircraft". - Fearless Son 21:40, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
- no they are super aircraft the X 02 shouldn't be a super aircraft then because from AC5 onward it's crap. No but it should stay Super because that's what they are they aren't customizable because every aircraft in ACX is customizable and I guess you could say every aircraft in AC4, ACZ, and ACX is customizable because you can choose the weapon.Sam ov the blue sand 22:20, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

- I am not including weapon loadouts in my definition of "custom" on the planes. Those are just hardpoints made to take a variety of modular weapons. However, these aircraft I consider "custom" because you actually alter essential components of the airframe, replacing them with aftermarket parts. For example, you can change out the engine, or the wings, or install new software in the cockpit. These four planes are the only planes in the game that can take these kinds of customizations. Besides, you do not have to do anything special to unlock them other than progress through the game. A super aircraft is traditionally something that you can only get by beating the entire game and/or achieving other specific criteria to unlock them. - Fearless Son 23:00, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

- Dude where do you get this stuff, I have the game, bought for $39.99 (on sale!) believe me every one of the aircraft in the game can be customizable (I don't care how to spell it) not just these four and in that case let's add all the aircraft in the came to this article (I'm being sarcastic)! So why do you want to call it "Custizable" again?Sam ov the blue sand 23:54, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

- I too have this game, and so far it only lets me customize those four planes. What difficulty do you play it on? Maybe that makes a difference. - Fearless Son 20:04, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

- Ah the wonderful ace mode, there realy is no other way to play it (except expert if you're not up to the challenge of ace), but in my game you are able to custmize all the aircraft on any diffulculty (even very easy). And by the way almost all the aircraft here have the COFFIN system execpt the XFA-24A Apalis, I'm thinking I should get rid of this aircraft because of that reason, so because they incorperate the newest technologies to these aircraft. Please try to keep the conversations to a low I'm sick right now and shouldn't be on a computer, its giving me a headack (I spelled it wrong), keep them short please. And I made the Fenrir article I know what I'm doing, infact I've made several articles.Sam ov the blue sand 01:49, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

- Yes, I am aware that you have written several articles. One of the first things that I did before modifying this page was check into your previous work, and I can see and respect that you are an enthuasist in this. However, I have still not been able to "tune" any of my aircraft other than these ones. Why there would be a difference between our two experiences of this game I have no idea. - Fearless Son 21:59, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

- Ah I'm all better now, look all I know is that 5 minutes ago I upgraded my F-22 Raptor's engines to make it faster. Maybe this will help this is directly from the instruction manualk, it reads as follows, "Chosing Hangar at the Mission Select Screen or the Briefing Screen will display these menu items, from which you can buy and sell special weapons and more." Then it goes on to say, Buy: (random stuff about what you can do here buy planes, weapons and parts)!

- Part 1:Aircraft, Part 2:Category Secetion, Choose a part catergory. There are five categories: Engine, Wing, Weapon, and Cockpit. Part 3: When a part is selected, the aircraft capability meters displayed at the center of the screen will change. Press the X button or the O button to swap the part. I do admit that not all the aircraft can be tuned.Sam ov the blue sand 00:27, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
