Ace (Suikoden)

Ace is a character in Konami's role playing game Suikoden III (Japanese: 幻想水滸伝, /geŋsoː sʉikodeɱ/). He is mercenary who is a member of the Twelfth Harmonian Southern Fringe Defense Force.

Ace is a mercenary in the Twelfth Harmonian Southern Fringe Defense Force Unit. He is the accountant of the group, and was given this job because no one else wanted it.
Ace was born in Vinay del Zexay, and served as a mercenary for Gilbert during the Dunan Unification War. Other then that, Ace divulges little information about his past which he prefers left behind when he joined the Defense Force, hence the name change.
Ace is known to love both drinking and women, and is quite amorous around the opposite sex. He is often the butt of many a joke, especially from Joker and Queen.
Ace had a relationship of sorts with Elaine from the 14th Unit. He had given her a valuable gift once as a token of favor, but she played hard-to-get and was angry with him. Now their relationship has changed, and he is rather cold to her. Elaine still has a slight infatuation for him, however.
Ace actually enjoys reading, and those around him find it unusual that he does so. He prefers pulp adventure novels. He tried his hand at writing one for the Fire Bringer, although he wrote it under the alias Hitman Bravo. The novel itself is of questionable quality, but Elaine seemed to like it.
It is theorized that he sides with Geddoe against Harmonia because his hometown is in danger from the Harmonian Army, along of course with the fact that the rest of his unit followed Geddoe as well. After the war, he continues as the accountant for the group.

- Ace learned about sai from a book he read, and had a blacksmith make a pair.
- Ace was born in Vinay del Zexay.
- Ace has a bad gambling habit.
- Ace worked with his unit in the Higheast Rebellion three years prior to Suikoden III. This incident happened when rebels within the Higheast Province of the Dunan Republic rebelled and tried to revive the Highland Kingdom. This incident gained the 12th unit (at the time, the unit consisted only of Ace, Geddoe, Joker, and Queen) reputation as the best mercenary crew, and the start of his professional rivalry with Duke's unit.
