ABS-CBN News Channel
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
ABS-CBN News Channel, or ANC is a cable news network in the Philippines. It is operated by the ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation. Its programs are primarily in English. ANC is the first and only real 24-hour news channel in the Philippines. Originally known as the Sarimanok News Network (SNN), the channel was conceptualized to bring the news that matter most to Filipinos.
ANC discovered and exposed the anomalies surrounding the BW scandal in the Philippine stock market, which triggered historic events in the country thereafter. ANC gained prominence from its coverage of the impeachment trial of then president Joseph Estrada. Likewise, the News Channel covered EDSA DOS, the second people power revolution that forced Joseph Estrada to step down from his position.
It is presently seen through cable and satellite television in the Philippines, as well as abroad, through The Filipino Channel, another ABS-CBN affiliate.
ANC is also available in the internet through ABS-CBNNow! service.

[edit] 10 years
Last July 10, 2006, the ABS-CBN News Channel celebrated it's 10th year in the news and journalism industry. The station introduced new programs that are geared towards a better 24-hour news content for the Filipinos. The news channel also established a collaboration with three of the most formidable broadsheets in the country for a better and more reliable relaying of news and information to the people. These newspapers were Business World, Business Mirror, and The Philippine Star.
