Talk:Abridgement
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This article is SEVERELY biased. Definitely needs cleanup. I'll take a shot at it.
[edit] Complete Revision
This article was, in my opinion, very poor. It was mostly cribbed from an 1700s encyclopedia and was very high-concept and referred only to the.. concept of abridging a work of writing, and contained no reference to audiobooks (which is the primary outlet for abridgement these days).
So, I completely rewrote the essay to focus on abridging for audio and for print. It's rough, so feel free to edit it (as with the rest of wikipedia) and if you feel that some of the original material belongs back in, go ahead and add it in, but I still say the article should discuss audiobook and the practice of abridging books and not so much about how to reduce a paragraph into half a paragraph.
