Abraham Hyatt (born 1976, San Luis Obispo, California) is a reporter with The Tribune, a daily newspaper based in San Luis Obispo. He covers the town of Los Osos and its sewer controversy. Hired at the newspaper following a change in the town's elected leadership, his stories have focused on Los Osos' financial, legal, and political woes following the election.
Unlike other reporters who cover small communities for The Tribune, he rarely covers what could be termed as "warm and fuzzy" community news. Instead, his usually writes investigative articles. Some stories have revealed the how much Los Osos government agency, also known as the CSD (for Community Services District) spends on its legal staff, or how the CSD is not following public records laws.
He also writes about the CSD's finances as it approaches becoming one of the most expensive municipal bankruptcies (also known as Chapter 9 bankruptcy) in the nation.
