For the creator in Antioquia mythology, see Abira

Abiras is a city in the present Central African Republic.

While that was still a French colony, named Haut-Oubangui ('Upper Ubangi') till 29 December 1903 and then Oubangui-Chari (Ubangi-Shari), also known as Middle Congo, Abiras was its capital since 1894, only to be replaced in 1906 by (or renamed as?) the present capital Bangui.
