The Welsh cob is an integral part of country life in West Wales & the Aberaeron area.Aberaeron Stud[1] is a small stud based in Aberaeron, West Wales, specialising in Welsh Cobs & Part Bred Performance horses. This stud has had an influence on the Welsh breed & provided many equestrians with a great deal of pleasure on both a competitive & leisure level. The Aberaeron horses have competed at showing, show jumping, cross country, dressage and eventing. Their bloodlines include famous Welsh cobs - Brenin Dafydd, Nebo Black Magic, Derwen Railway Express & Pentre Eiddwen Comet. Started in the 1950's by Alun Evans registrar it was one of the fist Welsh Cob Studs in the Aberaeron area. You can find more information about this stud in the WPCS[2] Journals, or various Welsh Cob websites. Other studs of interest in the Aberaeron area include: Derwen, Fronarth, Nebo, Walena.
