[edit] About Abdullah Tahir
A student of Islam and its role in the development and guidance of modern society, Abdullah Tahir graduated from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana with a BA in Anthropology concentrated on Religious Studies. Course work included Buddhism, World Religions, Animism, Christianity, Hinduism, Shamanism, and Islam.
Abdullah Tahir converted to Islam after college and is now dedicated to living a life in accordance with Islamic Jurisprudence (Hanafi Madhab) in the United States. From an Islamic perspective, he finds that Islam in America is undergoing an exciting and formative process. It is no longer bound by the status quo / cultural restrictions that defined the religion in its traditional cultural contexts. Due to this new found freedom, Islam in America has the chance to realign itself with its true meaning in accordance with the Quran and Hadith.
[edit] Pages I've edited
Abdullah Tahir created and edited the page on Mawlana Faizani, a great Afghan scholar and philosopher, who was imprisoned and tortured under the totalitarian Daoud regime.
Abdullah Tahir also edits pages which might require some touch-ups. I will start a list shortly.
