The Swedish Wikipedia says that he was born in Zagra, while the Turkish one say that he was born in Çırpan, a small mountain town in northern Anatolia. Zagra could be either of two towns, one in Muğla Province at 37°21′N 28°35′E, and the other in Şanlıurfa Province in southern Anatolia near the Euphrates at 37°10′N 37°59′E. The Turkish Wikipedia even gives him the cognomen "Çırpanlı" see Çırpanlı Abdülkerim Nadir Paşa. Bejnar 23:26, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
