Abdullah Abu Sayeed

Abdullah Abu Sayeed (Bangla: আবদুল্লাহ আবু সাইয়ীদ) is a writer, tv presentator, organizer and activist from Bangladesh.

Sayeed was a professor of Bengali language in Dhaka College for many years. In 1975, he founded the Bish-wo Sha-hitto Kendro or World Literature Centre to promote the study of literature. It remains one of the most important cultural institutions in the nation.

Sayeed was given the 97th Ramon Magsaysay Award in Journalism, Literature, and Creative Communication Arts for "... cultivating in the youth of Bangladesh a love for literature and its humanizing values through exposure to the great books of Bengal and the world."
