Abdulla Afeef Didi

His Excellency Abdulla Afeef Didi was born in the island of Hithadhoo, Addu Atoll. He was the elected President of the United Suvadive Republic from 1959 to 1963.

On the 4th of October that year, the Colonial government of Seychelles announced that a British Frigate was to arrive in Port Victoria with a Maldivian politician, Mr. Abdullah Afeef Didi, and that on the recommendation of the British Government, the Colonial Government of Seychelles had granted temporary resident status to him. In fact, Mr. Abdullah Afeef Didi never left the Seychelles again. He died there on 13 July 1993.
