Abdul Latif Mirza

Abdul Latif Mirza (Urdu: عبد الطیف مرزا) was born in Jalalpur Jattan, Gujrat, Pakistan on July 26, 1950 to Abdul Kareem Mirza and Rahmat Bibi. He has been an activist associated with the Islamic Movement in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Canada. He has served on the executive body (Shura) of Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba as a student and then later on as the secretary general of ICNA Canada.
As a student leader affiliated with Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba, he was responsible for starting the organization's work in Azad Kashmir, Pakistan a responsibility he executed well.
After graduating from Punjab University (Lahore, Pakistan) in 1972 with an MA in Political Science, Abdul Latif Mirza joined Jamaat-e-Islami and was an active member of the organization when he was arrested as a political prisoner by the Zulfikar Ali Bhutto government. Shortly thereafter he left for Saudi Arabia and continued to live there until 1997 when he emigrated to Canada. As of 2006, he is the secretary general of Islamic Circle of North America's Canadian arm. He is also Member Board of Directors of Institute of Overseas Pakistanis [IOP] and Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency [PILDAT]
