ABC Upper Hunter
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
ABC Upper Hunter (previously known as 2UH) is an Australian radio station. It is the Upper Hunter service of the ABC Local Radio network, and serves Muswellbrook and surrounding areas. It operates on several frequencies:
- 1044 kilohertz on the AM band (this is the main 2UH frequency)
- 101.9 megahertz Merriwa, 96.9 megahertz Murrurundi, 105.7 megahertz Muswellbrook, all on the FM band (these are FM simulcasts, with its own callsign, 2HVR)
The UH in the callsign is short for the Upper Hunter, while the 2 respresents the state of New South Wales. The FM simulcast callsign 2HVR stands for Hunter Valley Radio, in addition to the 2. The station was established in 1964.
The majority of its programming comes from 1233 ABC Newcastle in nearby Newcastle, with the only change being a local program broadcast weekdays between 6.30am to 7.45am.
