Abakh Khoja, the tomb of Hidayetullah, is considered the holiest Muslim site in Xinjiang, north-west China in the city of Kashgar. Built in the 17th century, the beautiful tiled mausoleum is located 5 km northeast of the city centre, and contains the tombs of five generations of his family. Hidayetullah hoja was a powerful ruler, controlling East Turkistan including Khotan, Yarkand, Korla, Kucha and Aksu as well as Kashgar. Among some Uyghur Muslims, he was considered a sayid, who is a relative of the prophet Muhammad.
