[edit] Synopsis

None of this happened.
But all of it is true.

I don't know much about geography. I know there a place just outside Cambridge called America, and there are many towns like 'Broken Town' where it is forever Thatcher's Britain. I know what the world is like without Dave, I know of course that life goes on, que sera sera, what will be will be. The fickle finger of fate will poke you in the eye from time to time, but life goes on.

In January 1996: The Artists still Known As Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine said bye bye to their record company and went back to work. By August - in the searing heat of yet another British summertime - they found themselves with over thirty new songs.

December '95 Just prior to recording, in the time when the band were still - in mordernspeak - 'originating product', Fruitbat had a birthday party in this back room of a Brixton public house. His favourite pop group played especially for him, and outside, the rest of Brixton rioted ("And God Created Brixton") the hi-energy-wobbly-arse-dance music that we all love, it would make a wonderful Number 0ne for 16 weeks single. Dadrockers would apologise and go away.

The Songs feature here - and Many others hidden under the floorboards for future releases - were recorded at Notice Studio and The House in the Woods by singer Jim Bob guitarist Fruitbat and drummer Wez and later bass player Salv and guitarist Steve. Then there was Simon Painter, producer, keyboard player, lift giver and all round Mr.Nice, who would hold thins together, making sure everyone stayed sane, while he slowly went round the bend.

So, another chapter in - not the greatest story ever told - but a fair enough tale, with, who knows, maybe a happy ending. No more wars, we'll all win the lottery and Carter will finally break America - just outside Cambridge

[edit] Facts & Trivia

  • This was released as E.P due to Cooking Vinyl feeling that an E.P would cost fans of the band less money to buy that a full length album thus generating higher sales and gaining a mainstream chart position (it failed)
  • The U.S version contains 9 track rather than just the first six due to Cooking Vinyl American arm asking for more tracks
  • This is the debut album for bass player Salv and guitarists Steve they would remain part of the band till the band parted ways.
