A Universe of Consciousness: How Matter Becomes Imagination is the title of a 2000 book by the biologist Gerald Maurice Edelman and Giulio Tononi. The book aims to explain "the neural substrate of consciousness" (p. xii). It also reviews some ideas of brain organization and brain theory.
