A Triumph for Man is the first album by Danish band Mew, released in April 1997 by the Danish record label Exlibris Musik.

Only 2000 copies of the album were printed initially and prices for an original copy have reached upwards of $200 on auction site eBay^{[citation needed]}.

On August 21, the danish website Gaffa.dk posted an article stating that Mew was to rerelease A Triumph For Man along with a cd with bonus material, including demos and acoustic versions of songs. This new version of the album was released on September 18, 2006.

Mew only released one proper single from their first album, "She Came Home for Christmas". However a promo of "I Should Have Been a Tsin-Tsi (For You)" were released in March 1997, before the album.

Two different versions of "She Came Home For Christmas" have been released since this original single, one version coming from Half the World Is Watching Me and two from Frengers, the later was a double A-side release with "That Time on the Ledge".
