A Steam train Passes was a 1974 film set in the 1940s featuring the construction and operation of a 3801 locomotive at Clyde Engineering near Railway town Parramatta, New South Wales.

After the opening sequence of the vehicle being built, the film showes it at a Engine shed with 3801's boiler being stoked by the Fireman and the lighting of the fire in the Firebox. The film then follows the engine through leaving the shed and being watered as the crew cook breakfast, travelling across the countryside past stations,signal boxes and towns, and finally stopping at the last station for the night. The Movie was Directed by David Haythornwaite
