A Single Woman is an album by singer/pianist/songwriter Nina Simone (1933-2003). It is her last official album and features lavishly produced Jazz-songs.

• "A Single Woman, "Lonseome Cities" and "Love's Been Good To Me" are songs written by Rod McKuen.
• "The Folks Who Live On The Hill" is dedicated to a wellknown Prime-Minister of Barbados with whom Nina had an affair in the late 70's/early 80's.^[1]
• "Marry Me", written by Nina herself.
• "Papa, Can You Hear Me?", a song most wellknown in the Barbara Streisand version.

• The dress Nina is wearing on the cover is designed by Christian Dior.
• The picture of Nina inside the jewel case booklet was used for a lot of her obituaries when she died in 2003, age 70. It shows Nina in wearing a golden turban, sitting on a chair and with the pink-red Dior-dress spread out all around her.
