A Rock in the Weary Land was an album released in 2000 (see 2000 in music) by The Waterboys. It was their first album after a seven year break. The album cover photography is by Steve Gullick.
"Is She Conscious?" was released as a single on March 27, 2001 containing a single version of the song, the song's album version and a video, along with the additional songs "Sad Procession", "Faeries Prisoner", a sixteen-minute live version of "Savage Earth Heart" (from The Waterboys), and Harry Belafonte's "My Lord What a Morning". "My Lord What a Morning" also appears on the extended North American release.
Critic John Mulvey, writing for NME, describes the album as "largely excellent" except for "We Are Jonah", which he describes as "appallingly cheery Christian rock".[1]
